Fraser Valley Thunderbirds Hitting The Road

The Fraser Valley Thunderbirds Minor Midget team sitting in third place (8-3-1-0) hit the road this weekend, December 7-9 for a 3 game series of games against the second place Caribou Cougars(9-2-1-0) in Prince George.

The Fraser Valley Thunderbird team is made up of 2003 year players from Mission, Abbotsford, Langley, Aldergrove and Chilliwack.  The team consists of 2 players from Abbotsford, 1 from Aldergrove, 2 from Mission, 9 are from Langley and 5 come from Chilliwack.  The Fraser Valley Thunderbirds’ Minor Midget team play all home games at the Abbotsford Centre.

The Minor Midget Thunderbirds team is part of the BC Hockey’s Midget and Minor Midget Hockey League.  This is the first season for the Minor Midget League in BC.  The Minor Midget league gives an opportunity for 15 year old players to develop with other hockey players of the same age.  The Minor Midget League has aligned and affiliated with the Major Midget League(MML).  Ten teams throughout BC make up the BC Hockey’s Minor Midget League in the same geographic regions of the MML with the exclusion of the Kootenay Zone.  The Minor Midget League season consists of 30 regular season games and eight teams will qualify for the playoffs.  The Fraser Valley Thunderbirds added 20 additional exhibition games to their 2018/2019 season, making it a 50 game season.
