Vacant Structure Fire

On August 30th shortly after 8:00am, the Chilliwack Fire Department was alerted to a report of a structure fire in the 5600 block of Lark Rd. Fire crews from Halls 1, 4 and 6 responded to the scene and upon arrival discovered smoke coming from the eaves and chimney of a single story, boarded up vacant residential structure.

Crews quickly brought the fire under control and the building suffered light to moderate damage from the fire.

There were no firefighter or civilian injuries reported.

This fire appears to be deliberately set and is under investigation by Chilliwack Fire Department and RCMP officials.
