Chilliwack:  RCMP greeted over 250 people to their third annual open house hosted on May 16th, by the Chilliwack RCMP Community Policing Office (CPO).

A number of hands-on activities and informative displays at the event gave visitors a closer insight to a number of policing services offered by the Chilliwack RCMP and our public safety partners who serve the community.

Guests took the opportunity to meet officers from our local CPO, participate in ‘Red Serge’ guided tours of the detachment,  and talk with officers from Lower Mainland District support sections including the Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS), Integrated Police Dog Section IPDS), Emergency Response Team (ERT), and the Integrated Municipal Provincial Auto Crime Team (IMPACT).

Pavilions operated by the City of Chilliwack Safer City, ICBC, Chilliwack Crime Prevention Services, and Crime Stoppers answered questions while providing valuable crime prevention information and safety tips to inquisitive guests.

Superintendent Bryon Massie, Officer in Charge of the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment and Inspector Davy Lee, Operations Officer of the Chilliwack CPO thank everyone for their participation in making this year’s Chilliwack CPO open house another huge success.

“It was a pleasure to share an afternoon meeting so many folks and take the opportunity to showcase the services offered by the Chilliwack RCMP and our community partners,” says Superintendent Bryon Massie.
