Light up the Great Trail for Canada 150! event
Cultus Lake, B.C. – With the fire ban still in effect at Cultus Lake, the decision has been made to cancel the August 26, 2017 grande finale fireworks display of the Light up the Great Trail for Canada 150! event.

At dusk, attendees of all ages will walk or bike the Main Beach waterfront path carrying glowing lights. There will be glow stick giveaways to ensure that everyone has a light to shine.

“The safety of our community is our priority,” said David Renwick, Chair of the Cultus Lake Park Board. “I know it is disappointing not to have a fireworks display, but given the fire ban in Cultus Lake and in many places in our beautiful province, with an abundance of caution and respect for our environment, the decision was made to cancel this part of the event.” He added: “We know our community will understand and will come out and have a great time with all of the other fun activities that are planned. We look forward to seeing everyone there!”
