Chilliwack Society for Community Living (CSCL) broke ground today on a construction project of three fully accessible homes. The tri-plex is located on CSCL’s property at the corner of Wells Rd and Sunshine Dr and will replace aging homes, no longer suitable for the needs of the residents.  CSCL has been providing supports to children and youth with special needs and adults with developmental disabilities since 1954 and has program sites and homes all over the community serving over 450 individuals.  The project is slated to complete in January 2018 and each unit will be home to two adults.

“This project has been in the planning phase for about three years and we are excited to get the work underway that will create fully accessible homes for six individuals” Julie Unger, Executive Director

Here are just a couple of the adults who will be living in these new supported facilities. Hilda Thiessen on the right and Erin Hancock on the left.
